Roberto's Puerto Nuevo
Puerto Vallarta has undergone many changes since 1978 when I arrived from northern Mexico for a one week vacation - A vacation that has now lasted 27 yearsnd counting!
Roberto´s started small - myself and two friends attending to four tables on a cement floor. We served tapas (tasty food snacks) - to Vallarta business on the unpaved road which has become Basilio Badillo - our famous calle de los cafes or Puerto Vallarta's Restaurant Row. There were no street lights so we opened atnoon and closed at six. Then, as now, we served onlyb the freshes seafood available, and were of ten supplied by fishmongers fresh up from the beach.
Modest as it may have been, our small eatery began to attract a steady following of sea food lovers and evolved into the full - service facility we now offer.
Over the years, Roberto´s has become, if I may, one of Puerto Vallarta´s best- known restaurant thanks to the good lord, and to the gracious support of our many, many friends. Seasons come and seasons go but the warmth and good cheer of our “amigos queridos” is a gift we will always cherish and reciprocate.
